Brittnye and Aaron’s story is a story of second chances. It’s a story of hope shining through a hopeless situation. It’s about despair that comes from one broken relationship leading into the restoration that flows from another. It’s a story about how a story is really never over. Joy comes with the morning. It started with a lunch date and slowly became more. Aaron stole Brittnye’s scarred heart and showed her what it meant to love again.
Brittnye blogs every day on a blog entitled 1000 Reasons to Smile. She writes so beautifully. She says it more beautifully than I could say for her. She wrote this the day she blogged about their proposal:
So God is a God who redeems. A God who has perfect timing and knows what He’s doing. And when He allows our hearts to break, you can believe that as He repairs them, He will sow in a joy like you couldn’t imagine. And I praise God for doing that for me. For taking me down the road that He did so that I could find Aaron. And because of that, I appreciate him more than I’ll ever be able to articulate. I know every girl thinks they’re the luckiest girl alive, but the truth is, I really am! Because Aaron is all I have ever needed. God created Him just for me, and there is no denying that. And so, were I asked to do it again, I’d walk through the fire and pain to get to him.
Brittnye + Aaron, you guys have one of the most beautiful loves I have ever seen. I cannot express to you how humbled I am to join in this experience with you guys. AND how grateful I am for hanging out in the freezing weather with me 🙂
