Once upon a time, I was on the G train heading from a shoot along the Brooklyn waterfront with my friend Jake, when we ran into a girl he knew. He introduced us, and two stops later, she got off the train. Or we got off the train. I have no idea. It was a split second in my memory until a year and a half later when I got an email that said, “I don’t know if you remember me, but we met on the G train…” Turns out, her name was McKenzie and she has a REALLY good memory.
And so I headed back to my favorite city to photograph these two people who had announced their engagement with a slow motion video of them jumping up and down (ie: my kinda people).
This shoot was effortless. The East River Promenade to omg-it’s-so-early-we-need-coffee and over to SOHO. Everything ebbed and flowed in the most natural way. When we finally parted ways I shouted after them, “I MISS YOU ALREADY!” It got weird, and I loved it.
I WORK WITH THE BEST PEOPLE.
happy happy happy tuesday!
