It’s been a crazy, crazy summer.

So when Jillian was trying to get me to join her in NYC on two random days I had off between a trip to Dallas and my parents’ visit in Oregon, I said, “NO way José.” But if there’s one thing we have all learned about me this year, it’s that I can’t say no to New York. All it took was another it’s-your-last-chance! text message on a Thursday to get me to New York on the following Monday. And while it made for an incredibly exhausting week, I wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. I know it probably won’t be like this forever, so I’m trying to take advantage of every opportunity while I have it.

I also want to be more diligent about blogging my personal work again. This blog used to be such an outlet for me, and it’s been severely neglected while I try to juggle a full time work load with being a full time grad student. In the meantime, enjoy a snapshot of the 36 hours I got to spend with Jillian and James in my favorite city in the world.

I got to see my dear friend, Talitha! We had our traditional lunch at Otto in Greenwich Village.
Happiness all around! So glad Jillian snapped this shot of us.

FUN FACT EVERYONE: Southwest doesn’t charge fees if you change your flight! So I just rerouted my Dallas-Portland flight to a Dallas-NYC-Portland flight. In case you guys get the urge to spend 36 hours somewhere.
